The centerpiece of each instrument’s neck is radial-sawn white ash. Increased attack and readability are provided by this solution. It allows producing the brand and recognizable sound of instruments, and the neck itself is stable and very durable. In our case, the body material and remaining neck material mainly affect the timbre color, but the instrument’s nature remains unchanged, which allows for experiments and a more accurate prediction of the result.
The thickness of our guitars is always around 33-36 mm, which is convenient and ensures a significant weight reduction of the instrument without additional relief. Moreover, it allows using very dense types of wood, which have a cleaner tone in contrast to their less dense analogs. These wood species include, for example, white ash and sapele (dense mahogany).
SELECTION AND PREPARATION
We independently select wood for our instruments, not entrusting such an important process to anyone. After all, to make a really good instrument, the wood has to be better than just good.
As an example, we have to check from 1.5 to 2.5 cubic meters of already sorted material to select just one suitable board of white ash. Thus, according to our own statistics, no more than 1.5% of the total amount of really high-quality sawn timber is chosen for the guitar.
After we select the best blanks for an instrument, we put them together and additionally keep the already dry wood in our kiln to make its moisture content even.
POPULAR WOOD SPECIES
We have a rather large stock of exclusive materials and we can provide photos of blanks for your project. But if you need something very rare and specific, we can get that too.
